Activities
The GIS unit started with the support of a Japanese volunteer,
who showed the staff of APSARA Authority how to operate
and edit maps in the GIS system.
Currently, there are 5 staff members MAY Ra, KIM Samnang,
KHUT Vuthyneath, IN Sokritya, and a Japanese volunteer.
The GIS unit is in charge of the following activities:
- Edit maps
- Field surveys
- Training course
- Research
- Publish
map book:
- Map showing Angkor zoning, archaeological sites, hydrology,
forests, geological formations, and soil types in the region
of Angkor (2001).
- Report on the population statistics in zones 1 and 2 of
the Angkor region (2001-2003).
- Prepare paper maps for other departments of APSARA Authority
upon request.
