Training
In order to improve the knowledge and understanding of
the new geographical information system, the GIS technical
staff have both abroad and local training courses. |
| Abroad:
In 2003, one of the GIS technical staff received a grant
to learn about how to operate the map in Arc.GIS in Japan
from Nara Institute. |
| Local:
In 2003, we got training in the framework of an international
symposium titled "New Horizons for Southeast Asian
Studies (Inscription and Digital Archive)" in Siemreap.
Next, in 2004, we got training about the GIS basic concept
in Phnom Penh. This course was implemented by the Ministry
of Public Work and Transportation (MPWT) in collaboration
with JICA. |

Research
The GIS unit have collaborated with an international Thai
research team on the project of "Living Angkor road
in Thainland". The objective of this project is to
survey the ancient road from Angkor to Phimai and Sdokakthom. |
