12 August 2005: Tree Planting Ceremony in the Protected Zone
of Angkor Park

To improve the green surroundings of Angkor, APSARA Authority has organized a tree planting ceremony in the protected zone of Angkor Park (Along the hotel zone road).

Three types of trees have been planted, increasing the number of young trees in Angkor Park to 6300.

The ceremony was very festive with the participation of employees of the APSARA Authority, the Deputy Governor of the Siem Reap Province, parliamentarian of the Siem Reap Province, Provincial Environment Department officers, the Heritage Police, the
Tourism Police, monks, international organizations who are working in Angkor and some more local authorities involved.

APSARA Authority is not only planting trees on public occasions such as this one, but the whole Angkor Park will be part of an extensive reforestation project.
