Social development

The Department of Demography and Development advocates improvements for the local population in education, housing and the social status as a whole. Because of a shortage of in budget and human resources, the department seeks good partners both national and international to develop this field.

National relations

The Department of Depmography and Development is communicating with local NGOs (Non-Government Organizations), institutions and provincial departments which have on-going development and educational programs in the Siemreap regions. The department shall communicate with local authorities such as village development committees and commune councils, because they play an important role in controlling population growth and village development. Some NGOs offer professional training in such skills as basket and silk production.

The technical staff of the department study such programs and data that give answers to development questions over time.
