Ceramics Conservation Team
Research Project at Anlong Thom Kiln Site
In 2006, the Ceramics Conservation Team researched on the
first step about the general geography and mapped the whole
area of Thnal Marech Site (on Kulen Mountain).
This year, we are going on the research excavation on Kiln
Site, located on the south of the Thnal Mrech’s dam.
The excavation was conducted on 27th December 2006 to 31st
January 2007 with the cooperation of researchers from University
of Singapore and Sophia University (Japan). As a result,
we found two structures of Kiln which are different shape
and size (Thnal Marech’s kiln 001 and 002).
At the moment, we are analyzing by archaeological methodology
and drawing all artifacts from the excavation.
