Surrounding Management Unit
The Surrounding Management Unit consists of a group of
architects, engineers and landscape architect in charge
of the surroundings of the monuments.
Banteay Srei Parvis Project:
The Banteay Srei Parvis Project workgroup is currently
working on the qualification of the different areas proposed
in the zoning plan. Every element is approached through
the close collaboration of every department technicians.
Thus, the project process is based on a multidisciplinary
vision.
A report is currently under preparation, offering a synthesis
of the project progresses and enabling to tackle the activities
organization, programming and specifications.
The Parvis operation must satisfy the different needs and
be integrated in a global project of conservation and valorization
of the cultural and natural heritage, tackling the issue
of overpopulation in the temple both quantitatively and
qualitatively. The Banteay Srei parvis project, together
with the other parvis projects within the Park, and thanks
to the efforts led by the Workgroup, must at the same time
resolve the overcrowd emergency, while valorizing the monument
in its global context, and integrate different scales and
different populations present on site.
Other activities
Beside this, the Unit also surveys and controls the toilets
construction sites at Angkor Wat, Phnom Bok, Banteay Samre,
Neak Pean, as well as the new check point of Sokha Hotel
Company. It supervises the installation of the World Heritage’s
post at Banteay Srei, BaKong, 60 meter-road and Chambak
Kamnab and the road construction at west Baray.
